Essential Gear
- Hunting license and tags
- Quality rifle/bow with scope, sighted in for mountain conditions
- Plenty of ammunition/arrows
- Binoculars and rangefinder
- Hunting pack with frame (for packing out meat)
- Game bags and field dressing kit
Clothing
- Layered hunting clothing (camo optional)
- Waterproof, insulated hunting boots
- Merino wool base layers
- Insulated jacket and pants
- Waterproof outer shell
- Warm hat, gloves, and neck gaiter
- Extra socks and boot liners
Camp & Personal
- Sleeping bag (rated for below freezing)
- Small personal tent (backup)
- Headlamp with extra batteries
- Personal medications
- Water bottle and filtration system
- Basic first aid kit
- Multi-tool or knife
